Notes
- OVAL BASE MATHS: ch 11 gives two straight sides of 9 sts plus 3 sc worked into each end chain — 9 + 3 + 9 + 3 = 24 sts. After that, all increases go into the two curved ends only (3 per end), so the oval grows by 6 per round exactly like a circle: 24 → 30 → 36.
- HEART CHART — 7 columns wide, 6 rounds tall, worked bottom-up. Each square is 1 sc; ■ = Cherry Red, · = Soft Lemon: R1 ···■···, R2 ··■■■··, R3 ·■■■■■·, R4 ■■■■■■■, R5 ■■■■■■■, R6 ■■■·■■■. The written chart occupies stitches 15–21; before the motif, move the round marker so those seven stitches fall at the centre of your chosen front face.
- Carry Cherry Red loosely inside the Soft Lemon stitches across the whole heart section — cutting and rejoining leaves lumps.

- Sl st in each st around for a firm mouth. Fasten off. (36 sts)
- Strap: with Cherry Red ch 4, sc 3, then work rows of 3 sc in BLO until the cord measures 110 cm — about 265 rows at this gauge (24 rows = 10 cm). Measure it over your shoulder before fastening off; a strap is easier to lengthen now than later. (3 sc x about 265 rows sts)
- Sew each strap end firmly inside the pouch at the side folds, 4 sts down from the top. Go around each join twice. (— sts)
