Granny Cluster (3-dc cluster) — crochet stitch tutorial
The classic granny square unit. After the centre round, these patterns place groups in chain spaces rather than individual stitches.
UK terminology: 3-tr cluster
How to work it
- Work 3 dc into the same chain space.
- Along a side, separate 3-dc groups with ch 1.
- In each corner, work (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) into the same corner space.
Tips
- For these four-corner squares, round n has 12 x n dc; the starting ch-3 counts as one of those dc.
