3 Double Crochet Together (dc3tog) — crochet stitch tutorial
The valley of a chevron / ripple. Turns 3 stitches into 1, pulling the fabric down into a V.
UK terminology: 3 treble together (tr3tog)
How to work it
- Work a dc but stop with 2 loops on the hook. Repeat in each of the next 2 stitches — 4 loops on the hook.
- Yarn over and pull through all 4 loops at once.
Tips
- Each dc3tog removes 2 stitches. Working 2 dc in each of two adjacent peak stitches adds 2, balancing that valley.
